Stockton-on-the-Forest join the fibre revolution

Residents of Stockton on the Forest are celebrating as full fibre internet connections roll out across the Yorkshire village. The village now has access to ultrafast speeds up to 1000Mbps.

Thanks to a recent investment, the Over 450 properties will benefit from full fibre broadband.

Game-changing connectivity for families

For families like the Gregsons, who previously dealt with sluggish speeds of 40 Mbps while working from home, the transition to FTTP connectivity has been a game-changer.

When asked about their experience, Mr. Gregson expressed,”It’s running perfectly. We pretty much have a tele in every room and they’re all running at once. My kids love Cars on Disney, and Minnie Mouse, which they can now watch with no issues!”

Looking forward to the future of broadband

Jake Wright, RuralFibre4U’s Operations Director, is proud of the work his team has done to get this community online. He states “This new network marks a major milestone in our mission to provide full fibre internet to rural communities across the county.”

Roy Grant, Head of ICT at City of York Council, said: ‘Internet connectivity is not a luxury but a necessity to many of the residents and businesses in York and the surrounding areas. This is why we are pleased to celebrate the introduction of full fibre optic broadband to Stockton-on-the-Forest.

‘This is another step forward in providing access to the best connectivity possible and to experience the full benefit of living close to the UK’s first Gigabit City.’
